Magic City won the "Search for Excellence" award in 1988 for it's innovative and progressive vocational programs. This set a standard that is still held today.
Services and supports available to persons with disabilities include:
- Assessment of career interests, skills and support needs
- Career planning
- Assistance and support in developing quality employment
opportunities
- Education and support in developing resumes, applications and
interview skills
- Development of natural and planned supports including job
coaching as needed to ensure successful employment
- Opportunities for inclusion through education, training, advocacy,
social interactions, invitations to participate, behavioral supports
and planned activities
- Ongoing support and follow along services may be provided as
needed
Services and supports available to employers include:
- Qualified applicants
- Job analysis and assessments to help assure a successful job
match
- Consultation services consisting of on-site training and support
to managers, supervisors and employees
- On-site training of the new applicant as desired and needed
- Ongoing technical assistance as needed
- Interpretation and assistance with implementing elements of the
Americans with Disabilities Act
