In 2008, Magic City Enterprises (MCE) implemented a system called THERAP to the organization. THERAP has improved communication between departments, staff, managers and guardians/family members dramatically in the past year. With the request of a guardian, they are able to see daily reports and program progress of their family member with a quick connection to the internet. For MCE, it is remarkable the wonderful reports and information that is gathered from electronic documentation. At the push of a button, all departments who work with an individual can see important information that is relevant to them and their care. For example, a participant is having a hard day because of a head ache. This fact, with the nurses instructions will be at all the department’s that work with the participant throughout the day including the pain reliever they were given and how they are feeling at the time they went to bed. This gives a great peak into the day for family and of course the assigned Case Manager for monitoring purposes. For MCE’s Green Team Mission, Therap's Individual, Staff, and Billing support applications provides an integrated solution to the needs of the developmental disabilities community. They offer an automated system which helps MCE move towards paperless documentation. The web-based Therap system enables authorized users of the system to access the information they need from anywhere.
All Therap applications are designed to meet the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and other security and privacy requirements.
